My show at HEATH Los Angeles opened on Saturday night! The show features over 100 pieces of handmade porcelain lace, including my largest composition to date – 28 feet by 11 feet.

A sneak peak

This week I’m gently packing over 100 pieces of porcelain to ship to Los Angeles for the big show opening next week. The apartment is completely covered in boxes, giant bags of cornstarch peanuts and lacy bits.

Tokyo-New York Friendship Ceramic Competition

My porcelain lace bowl (pictured left) was selected for the 12th annual Tokyo-New York Friendship Ceramic Competition show. It will be on display and available for purchase at the Nippon Gallery for the last week of April.

From the press release:
This event strives to further the cultural ties between the sister cities of New York and Tokyo by encouraging and honoring the creativity of ceramic artists from Japan and the U.S. The exhibition will include over 100 works selected by the judges of the competition.

Out from Under, solo exhibition at Heath Los Angeles

At the end of the month, I’ll be flying out to Los Angeles to install my first solo exhibition! The show will feature my most ambitious work to date — a composition of porcelain doilies measuring about 18 feet by 11 feet, as well as several smaller pieces. Big thanks to Heath and Adam Silverman for inviting me to LA!

Brooklyn Babylon at Greenwich House Pottery

Last weekend, Greenwich House Pottery hosted its annual “Made in Clay” benefit sale. I created a series of 10 slip cast hanging planters entitled “Brooklyn Babylon.”


The project sent me running around the city looking for air plants, which I found in the flower district after contacting the very helpful folks at the New York Bromeliad Society
